The financial impact of almost three weeks of flooding and tornadoes will take months to assess, but business, farm and state leaders say it will likely be in the billions.

Losses will likely be greater than they were in 1993, experts say, when the damage and lost business from widespread flooding totaled about $2.1 billion, including a $1 billion hit to Iowa farmers.
