Captain Kirk Not Invited To Sulu's Gay Marriage
William Shatner will not boldly go to the ceremony when his former “Star Trek” co-star George “Sulu” Takei weds his longtime gay partner in Los Angeles.
After the California Supreme Court last month ruled that gay marriage was legal, Takei’s partner of 21 years, Brad Altman, proposed to 71-year-old Takei in the couple’s kitchen. They plan to wed in September, the New York Post reports.
The best man will be Walter Koenig, who played Chekhov on “Star Trek,” and the matron of honor will be Nichelle “Uhura” Nichols.
Leonard “Spock” Nimoy is also on the invitation list — but Shatner is not.
