Second Postville Agriprocessor Supervisor Pleads Guilty

Aided and Abetted The Harboring of
Undocumented Immigrants


A second supervisor arrested after a large raid at a kosher meatpacking plant in Iowa has pleaded guilty to immigration charges.

Martin De La Rosa-Loera (loh-EHR'-uh) appeared in federal court Wednesday on a charge of aiding and abetting the harboring of undocumented immigrants.

The 43-year-old was arrested in July following a raid two months earlier at the Agriprocessors Inc. plant in Postville.

"We are more vulnerable now," asked Angelica Cardenas, 28, who works in Perry's school system. "There is always fear of something like this, but with these raids, we know now it's real."

Police Chief Dan Brickner is matter of fact when asked if there are illegal residents in the city:
"Yeah. I'm sure there are."
